Collection: The Kōyō Collection

Kōyō (koh-yoh) literally means “red leaves.

But this Japanese word conveys much more. It represents the whole experience of the autumnal leaf colour changes, pausing to take a moment to admire how beautiful transitions can be, how change gives life momentum, however fast or slow it's pace.

Forests, woodlands, groves, even the lone-standing trees, morph into an arboreal Moulin Rouge.

Their dancing leaves form skyward bouquets of sequins and feathers - hues of burnished copper, caramelised bronze, honeyed old gold, toasted russet, deep olive green, sinfully-tinged scarlet, crisp carnelian.

The air carries warm scents in it's cooling; bonfires and smoke, damp logs and moss, pumpkin pie, fresh maple syrup, roasted chestnuts, spices and steaming apple cider are just a few. And our body yearns for soft cashmere, loose-weave knits, cotton cardigans, flannel-anything.

It's quiet, it's cozy, it's on-the-right-side-of-the-rain-trickled-window-glass, It's light-yo-candle-babies time of the year!
